From President Juanita M. Jenkins
Welcome to the official website of the Delaware Valley Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Incorporated. I am honored and humbled to serve as the inaugural president of our burgeoning, newly chartered section. We are a membership of over 150 diverse, talented, dedicated black women and men working together and advocating for our communities within the five-county service areas of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia, PA.
Since being chartered on September 10, 2020, in alignment with NCNW’s programs, we are grounded on a foundation of critical concerns known as “Four for the Future.” The Delaware Valley Section’s activities and events focus on:
-
Increase awareness of the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics (STEAM) careers and lifelong learning
-
Improve the Economic Stability of African Americans women and their communities by encouraging Entrepreneurship & Financial literacy
-
Improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities, especially among communities of color, by educating black women about Good Health and the Importance of Immunizations
-
Promotes Civic Engagement and advocates for sound Public Policy, Legislation, and Social Justice
